Acclimatizing, Check Bikes & Briefing
It’s time to get to meet your trusty steed for the journey ahead – your motorcycle! After a hearty breakfast, get some sun and continue acclimatizing Post-lunch get ready to check your motorcycle and the mandatory briefing session around the afternoon . Get acquainted with your ride, gear up, and listen closely to the dos and don’ts of conquering the rugged terrain. Remember, it’s not just about the bike – it’s about the rider too!

Leh to Uleytokpo (Sham Valley) 70 kms/ 2 hrs
Prepare for a thrilling ride from Leh to Uleytokpo, venturing through the magical beauty of  Sham Valley. Explore the ancient Saspol Caves, rumored to be older than your grandpa’s tales. At the georgeous & lesser-known ancient Mangyu Monastery, soak in the serene beauty and timeless wisdom. And don’t miss a visit to Alchi Monastery, where ancient graffiti tells stories even older than your favorite vinyl records. After a day filled with history, culture, and maybe even a Yeti sighting, unwind by the campfire in Uleytokpo.

Uleytokpo to Nubra Valley (228 kms / 6 hrs)
Saddle up for an exhilarating journey from Uleytokpo to the iconic Nubra Valley. Get ready for some serious mountain madness and hairpin bends – it’s like a rollercoaster, but with surprise yak crossings! Keep an eye out for friendly locals who brew the best chai this side of the Himalayas. Arriving in Nubra Valley, you’ll be greeted by towering white sand dunes, double-humped Bactrian Camels, Diskit monastery, and the majestic Maitreyi Buddha statue steeped in history. Immerse yourself in the warm hospitality and quirky charm of the locals before you settle in for the night – who knows, you might even swap ghost stories with a monk!

Nubra to Karzok Monastery (Tso Moriri) 245 kms/ 8.5 hrs
Today, we’re headed towards the Changthang Valley & reach the mystical Karzok Monastery, nestled by the shimmering Tso Moriri Lake. Get ready to channel your inner mountain goat as we navigate through lesser-charted terrain and high-altitude passes. Keep your camera handy as you won’t want to miss the breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks reflected in the crystal-clear waters of the lake. Also get ready to be tested with your riding skills as you cross river streams & passes en route. And if lucky, you might even spot a Himalayan marmot or two playing hide and seek among the rocks!

Karzok to Chumur (160 kms/ 6 hours)
Get ready for another day of adrenaline-fueled adventure as we journey from Karzok to the remote village of Chumur. Brace yourself for some off-roading fun as we cross the Nyoma Bridge and traverse through pristine wilderness and also visit the lesser-known Ryul Tso & Chilling Tso lakes. Keep your eyes peeled for rare wildlife sightings – from elusive snow leopards to graceful Tibetan antelopes, you never know what wonders await around the next bend. And remember, it’s not just about the destination – enjoy the journey, every bump and twist of the road!

Chumur to Hanle via Nyoma  (160 kms/ 5 hrs)
Get ready for a scenic ride from Chumur to the picturesque village of Hanle, passing through the charming town of Nyoma, which is the only place in the region with mobile data connectivity. You would be mesmerized by the rugged beauty of the Changthang plateau, with its vast expanses of untouched wilderness and snow-capped peaks stretching as far as the eye can see. Keep your camera ready to capture the stunning vistas and colorful prayer flags fluttering in the breeze. And don’t forget to pause for a moment of reflection on the Hanle monastery and nomadic tents that dot the landscape – a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of this remote region.

Hanle to Koyul via Demchok (120 kms/ 4 hrs)
Today, we’re off to explore the hidden gem of Koyul, nestled amidst the majestic mountains of the Changthang region. But first, we’ll make a pitstop at the highest motorable pass of the world – Umling La at 19000+ feet above sea level and then at Demchok, a remote village located near the Indo-China border. Take a moment to soak in the surreal beauty of the landscape, with its rugged mountains and tiny border villages. And don’t forget to Ay hello to the border guards whom you would meet frequently. As we continue our journey to Koyul, keep your eyes peeled for sightings of wild yaks and Himalayan wolves – you never know what surprises await in this untamed wilderness!

Koyul to Merak (160 kms/ 5 hrs)
Get ready to bid adieu to the Changthang region & for another day of epic riding as we head towards the tranquil village of Merak, nestled on the banks of the shimmering Pangong Tso Lake. Cruise through breathtaking mountain passes and rugged terrain, with the majestic peaks of the Himalayas as your backdrop. We stop by to pay our tribute at the Rezangla War Memorial. Right after Chusul, the tiny yet beautiful village en route where we stop for lunch. As you get the first glimpse of the lake, take a moment to pause and soak in the serene beauty of the lake, with its ever-changing shades of blue reflecting the clear skies above. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for the elusive Tibetan wild ass, known locally as the Kiang – you might just spot one grazing peacefully in the distance.

Merak to Leh (175 kms/ 4.5 hrs)
It’s time to bid farewell to the breathtaking beauty of the highest salt-water lake, as we make our way back to Leh, through the mighty Chang La pass. On arrival, take a seat at the cozy café in Leh City & reflect on the memories made and the adventures shared as you cruise through winding mountain roads and lush valleys. Don’t forget to stop and take one last look at the majestic peaks of the Himalayas – which you have conquered in the last few days.

Leh – Departure
As the sun sets on your epic adventure through the Changthang region, it’s time to say goodbye to Ladakh and head back home.
