Objective:
Our mission is clear: to shine a light on the path to a brighter future for the children of Hanle, who face extraordinary challenges in pursuit of education and opportunity.
“Lamas of Light” seeks to provide a warm and nurturing learning environment for the students at Hanle Monastery School. These students, aspiring to become Lamas (monks), hold the key to spreading light and knowledge.
Key Goals:
- Essential Warmth: In the harsh winter months, where temperatures plummet well below freezing, the simple comfort of warmth is a luxury. With your help, we’ve provided heaters in classrooms and living rooms, offering a reprieve from the biting cold.
- Education Empowerment: Now, we’re extending our reach to establish a fully-equipped Computer Lab and secure a full-time teacher. For children in Hanle, access to education is not just a privilege; it’s a lifeline to a better tomorrow.
Expected Impact:
The impact of our initiatives extends beyond the confines of infrastructure. It’s about instilling hope in the hearts of children who brave icy winds to reach school. It’s about empowering communities to overcome the adversities of remote living. It’s about nurturing dreams and fostering resilience in the face of adversity.

- Classroom Heating Systems: Already accomplished in January 2024, providing essential warmth during the bitter cold.
- Educational Facilities: Establishing a fully-equipped Computer Lab with Computers, a TV screen & other peripherals
- Full-time Teacher: Securing a dedicated teacher (full-time) to guide and inspire young minds.
