Let’s Spread Warmth
The “Let’s Spread Warmth” project, initiated by Royal Bikers and operationalized by the Noora Aman Foundation, is a testament to our commitment to fostering positive change in the lives of individuals and communities. This transformative initiative was launched in the remote village of Hanle, Ladakh at the Government High School, Anlay Khaldo, with the generous support of Giesecke & Devrient MS India Pvt. Ltd. Over the course of five years, the project has not only brought warmth to the cold deserts of Ladakh but has also significantly transformed the educational landscape in the region.
Project Overview
Mission and Vision
The mission of the “Let’s Spread Warmth” project was to create a warm and comfortable learning environment for the children of Hanle. Located in a region characterized by extreme weather, high altitude, and isolation, it was imperative to ensure that these children had the opportunity to complete their education without the threat of dropping out due to frigid conditions. This project also aimed to preserve valuable resources, seize opportunities, and foster a brighter future for the residents of Hanle.
Project Implementation
The project’s journey commenced with extensive discussions with Hanle village stakeholders, the identification of the specific challenges faced by the community, and consultations with experts to determine the optimum solution. We invested significant effort in identifying vendors experienced in delivering such projects and using quality products. The pitch for corporate funding was an intensive process involving numerous presentations and discussions to secure the essential support needed to make this vision a reality. Notably, the grant from Giesecke & Devrient MS India Pvt. Ltd. became a cornerstone of our success.
The selection of Noora Aman Foundation as our implementing partner was a crucial step, ensuring the effective and efficient execution of the project. The implementation phase was completed in record time, taking less than 50 days, thanks to the combined dedication and determination of the project team.
The project was inaugurated by Dy. Chairman/EC Education, LAHDC Leh, Mr. Tsering Angchuk inaugurated on 29th September 2023 at Govt. High School, Anlay Khaldo. Special guests during the event included Councillor Nyoma, LAHDC Leh, Mr. Ishey Spalzang; Chief Education Officer Leh, Mr. S.D Namgail; Commander 70 Brigade, Brig. Shailendra Bisht; Chakzod Anlay Monastery, Chairman Noora Aman Foundation, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh; Manish & Rajendra from Royal Bikers, and Abdullah from AB Enterprises.
To provide additional warmth & comfort, a vacuum-insulated flask was gifted to the students of the school, under this initiative. This would help them to remain warm & hydrated during the chilly winter season.
Project Impact
Education and Empowerment
The “Let’s Spread Warmth” project has had a profound impact on education and empowerment in Hanle. The installation of a solar-powered room heating system in the school hostel ensures a comfortable learning environment, even during the harshest weather conditions. As a result, the children of Govt, High School, Anlay Khaldo are now able to pursue their education without any hindrance due to the cold climate. The project serves as a beacon of hope for Hanle’s future generation, addressing the region’s low literacy rate and creating a pathway for progress and development.
